Tree Ideas

Ready to add a Virtues Tree to your home? Here are a few ideas to help you out:

a) Have fun as a family making a homemade tree.
There are many ways to make your family’s very own Virtues Tree. As you may have read in the Virtues Tree intro, my three-year-old son and I painted one together on poster board one day and that’s what’s still hanging in our home ten years later! You can find some examples at Enable Me to Grow.

b) Buy a wall decal of a tree.
There are many beautiful wall decals of trees these days, like this cute one from IKEA (shown below) and this one from Target. Just google to find the latest, greatest offerings out there.

c) Order this Virtues Tree watercolor poster with Fruits. (It was slated to be the next Tender Sapling product a couple years back and we have a few prototypes available for some of you all.)

The 22 x 28 glossy poster and 25 fruits in both color and black-and-white is $19 + shipping from the US. I can receive payments by Paypal. Just use the contact form to place your order. You can preview some of the fruits by clicking through to the old poll that is still live at the link above. (Please disregard mention of a kickstarter campaign, as we decided not to pursue it at that time. Also, note that the “tender sapling” watermark on the samples below aren’t actually printed on the poster or fruit sheets.)

Each family who wants to be part of this Virtues Tree pilot can decide their own approach to the tree. I’m hoping to try both “b” & “c” in our family to see what works for us. I have a feeling my middle son may try “a” again as well.😉
